Frequently Asked Questions

  • Holistic therapy focuses on the person as a whole, taking into consideration their environment, culture, views and experiences. Through a holistic approach, we treat the entire person rather than just the symptoms or presenting problem. This means that we look at emotions, body, mind, and spirit in the quest for optimal health and wellness.  Holistic therapy is based on the idea that an individuals overall wellbeing is interconnected, emphasizing the mind-body connection. This approach can be especially helpful for those who may need more of a mind-body approach than traditional cognitive therapy provides.

  • Integrative health coaching is a collaborative and client-centered approach to guiding individuals towards achieving their health and wellness goals. It integrates principles from both traditional health coaching and complementary therapies to support the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. The coaching process is centered around your specific goals.  In my coaching programs, I draw on evidence-based practices from both conventional approaches, as well as complementary and alternative therapies. Some of these techniques include motivational interviewing, SMART goal setting, mindfulness practices, and behavior change strategies.

Integrative and holistic health coaching can be beneficial for individuals looking to improve their health outcomes, manage chronic conditions, enhance their quality of life, and achieve a greater sense of well-being through personalized guidance and support.

  • I am able to offer therapy and supervision sessions both in person in Boca Raton, Florida, and virtually throughout the state of Florida.

For those interested in coaching services, I am able to offer Telehealth nationwide.

  • This is completely individual! Ideally, sessions would take place weekly for at least the first 4 sessions as we work on building a relationship. From there, the frequency of sessions and length of therapy completely depends on your own unique experience and circumstances.

Some people are looking to develop a long-term, ongoing therapeutic relationship, while others are looking for a more short-term solution-focused approach. We would check in regularly to make sure it is working for you and your needs.

  • With 14+ years of experience working with adults, I have developed a unique therapeutic style that combines elements of various evidence-based modalities to meet the needs of my clients, with a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship. Research supports that the most significant indicator of change in therapy is the relationship between the client and the therapist, so above all else, ensuring that this is a space in which you feel safe, seen and understood is my top priority.

Additionally, I conceptualize through a holistic framework, viewing the client as a whole person. I pull from cognitive-behavioral techniques, and trauma-informed therapy as well, while also incorporating elements of mindfulness, and somatic, mind-body practices.

Every human is unique in their story and experiences, therefore I understand the need to collaborate with you to meet your unique goals.

  • Therapy helps to resolve problematic beliefs, behaviors, relationship issues, feelings, and sometimes physical responses. In therapy, we tend to focus on issues and challenges of the past, uncovering trauma and identifying patterns or why someone behaves in a specific manner. Therapy is mainly focused on alleviating distress, healing psychological wounds, and promoting overall psychological wellbeing.

In contrast, coaching clients focus on present and future, with minimal reflection of the past. Coaching helps a person improve their mental health, but it does not provide mental health treatment in a formal way. Instead it provides hands-on support and actionable strategies to help a client to achieve a specific goal, that could be related to personal and professional development, enhancing performance, or overall wellness.

To simplify this further, therapy focuses on the ‘why’ and coaching focuses on the ‘how.’ Another way of looking at it is therapy is PROCESSING-FOCUSED, and coaching is ACTION-FOCUSED.

Examples of when to seek therapy:

Examples of when to seek coaching:

You’re feeling unmotivated and want help setting achievable goals, you want to break out of your comfort zone, you’re looking for more purpose or meaning in your life, you want to accelerate into the next step of your life or career, you’re looking for ways to hold yourself more accountable in your personal or professional life, you’re looking to elevate your physical health or wellness

Through our consultation call, we can identify your needs, goals, and current level of functioning to help determine which support may be best for you.

  • My current clients would describe me as a compassionate, and genuine “modern day” therapist who prioritizes connection with my clients above all else. Showing up authentically is so important to me, especially because I believe it encourages you to show up as your true self. I have been known to challenge my clients, when appropriate, and also hold space for all of their emotions. Above all else, my clients would likely tell you I place a high emphasis on creating a sense of empowerment, cultivating inner clarity and a sense of self worth and trust.

  • For clients who are seeking therapy, I am an out of network provider with most major insurance companies. However, it is definitely worth it to find out if you have out-of-network benefits (should you choose to go through insurance).

I recommend calling the number on the back of your insurance card and asking the following questions:

    1. Does your plan include out of network coverage for mental health?

    2. What is my deductible and does it have to be met in order to receive reimbursement?

    3. What is the reimbursement rate?

    4. Is a preauthorization required to receive services?

    5. Is there a limit to the number of sessions your plan will cover per year?

In the event that you decide to submit for out-of-network coverage, I will provide you with a superbill, so it would be helpful to find out how you can submit these superbills to your insurance.
